Recently, Samuel Edozie was on the verge of joining Rangers on a season-long loan transfer on the final day of the transfer window, but the move fell through since Rangers failed to complete the deal despite reaching an agreement with Southampton. As a result, Edozie remained at Southampton, and manager Russell Martin commented on the aborted loan move, describing it as a fantastic opportunity for the former Manchester City potential to hone his abilities as a left winger in Scotland.

Edozie joined Southampton last year for £5 million from Manchester City after impressing for the club’s development squads and even appearing for Pep Guardiola’s side. Edozie has six goals and three assists in 63 Southampton games over the course of two seasons at St. Mary’s Stadium. Edozie could now be poised for a season-long loan move, with Anderlecht in talks with the Saints about signing him on loan.

The summer transfer market in Europe’s top leagues has closed, but clubs in other nations, such as Belgium, Portugal, and Turkey, can still add to their squads in the next 10 days. Anderlecht qualified for the UEFA Europa League this season after placing second in the Belgian league the previous season. As a result, Edozie will see more playing time at Anderlecht this season, giving him the opportunity to display his outstanding potential on the European stage.

Southampton have recruited Ryan Fraser and Maxwel Cornet to increase their attacking depth. Russell Martin’s team has only scored one goal in their first three Premier League games, a magnificent finish from Yukinari Sugawara in a 3-1 defeat. Now is the time for the Saints’ front three to step up their game and score more goals in order to gain more league points.
